Getting Started with Silobase

1. CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT

Silobase offers a 30-day free trial with full access to all features.

STEP-BY-STEP:

Visit the Silobase Website

  • Go to https://silobase.com
  • Click "Get Started" or "Start Free Trial"

Enter Your Details

  • Full Name: Your first and last name
  • Email Address: Use a valid business email
  • Company Name: Your organization's name
  • Password: Create a strong password with:
    • At least 8 characters
    • Upper and lowercase letters
    • At least one number
    • At least one special character

Select Your Plan

  • Free Plan: Basic features, limited assets
  • Professional Plan: Full features, unlimited assets
  • Start with the 30-day free trial of any paid plan

Complete Payment (if applicable)

  • For paid plans, enter payment details
  • Your card is charged after the 30-day trial ends
  • Cancel anytime during the trial

Verify Your Email

  • Check your inbox for a verification email
  • Click the verification link to activate your account

Log In and start using Silobase

TIPS: - Use a business email for easier team collaboration - Save your login credentials securely - Set up Two-Factor Authentication for added security.

2. LOGGING INTO YOUR ACCOUNT

STANDARD LOGIN:

  1. Navigate to https://silobase.com and click "Login"
  2. Enter your email and password
  3. Click "Sign In"
  4. If 2FA is enabled, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app

USING PASSKEYS (PASSWORDLESS):

  1. Click "Sign in with Passkey" on the login page
  2. Follow your browser's prompts
  3. Use your device's biometric (fingerprint, face) or PIN

PASSWORD RECOVERY:

  1. Click "Forgot Password?" on the login page
  2. Enter your registered email address
  3. Check your inbox for the reset link
  4. Click the link and create a new password

TIPS: - Enable "Remember Me" only on personal, secure devices - Set up passkeys for faster, more secure login.

3. TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA)

2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring both your password and a code from your phone.

SETTING UP 2FA:

  1. Go to Settings > Security or Account Settings
  2. Find "Two-Factor Authentication" and click "Enable"
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator)
  4. Enter the 6-digit code to verify setup
  5. Save your backup codes in a secure location

LOGGING IN WITH 2FA:

  1. Enter your email and password
  2. Open your authenticator app
  3. Enter the current 6-digit code
  4. Click "Verify"

BACKUP CODES:

  • You receive backup codes when enabling 2FA
  • Each code can only be used once
  • Store them securely (password manager, safe location)
  • Use if you lose access to your authenticator app

4. ACCEPTING A TEAM INVITATION

When an administrator invites you to their Silobase organization:

Check Your Email

  • Look for "You've been invited to join [Company] on Silobase"
  • Check spam/junk if not in inbox

Click the Invitation Link

  • Links expire after a set time
  • Request a new invitation if expired

Create Your Account

  • Enter your full name
  • Create a strong password
  • Accept terms of service

Complete Setup

  • Verify your email if prompted
  • Log in to access the organization

TIPS: - Complete setup promptly (links expire) - Use a password you don't use elsewhere - Enable 2FA after setup.

5. UNDERSTANDING YOUR DASHBOARD

The Dashboard is your home screen showing key metrics and quick actions.

STATISTICS CARDS:

  • Total Assets: All assets in your inventory
  • Available: Assets ready to be checked out
  • Assigned: Assets currently with someone
  • Users: Team members with accounts

QUICK ACTIONS:

  • Add Asset: Create a new asset entry
  • Check Out: Assign an asset to someone
  • Check In: Return an asset to inventory
  • Add User: Invite a new team member

RECENT ACTIVITY:

Shows the latest check-ins and check-outs: - Asset name and tag - Person involved - Action type (checked in/out) - Date and time - "View All" for complete history

  • Dashboard: Overview (current page)
  • Assets: Browse all assets
  • Check-In/Out: Manage assignments
  • Users: Manage team members
  • Recipients: Manage external assignees
  • Reports: View analytics and exports
  • Settings: Configure your account

STATUS COLORS: - Green: Active, available, healthy - Yellow: Trialing, pending, needs attention - Blue: Assigned, checked out, in use - Red: Suspended, overdue, requires action


TROUBLESHOOTING

Q: I didn't receive the verification email

A: Check your spam folder. Request a new verification email from the login page.


Q: My password isn't being accepted

A: Ensure it meets all requirements: 8+ characters, mixed case, numbers, special characters.


Q: Can I change my company name later?

A: Yes, in Settings > Company Profile.


Q: User didn't receive the invitation

A: Check spam folder, verify email address, or resend invitation.


Q: I'm locked out after too many login attempts

A: Wait a few minutes, then try again or reset via email.
